Who We Are God reveals Himself in the Bible as one God in three persons; God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. “And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Mt 28:18-20 Scripture is infallible as it is inspired or breathed out (spoken) by God. “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” 2Timothy 3:16-17 The church is the body of Christ. “God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.” Ephesians 1:22-23 God sent His Son to save the world from sin. Jesus did not become the Savior, He was born Savior. “The angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David (Bethlehem) a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah (Christ), the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” Luke 2:10-11; And, “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:12 Jesus, the Son of God entered His own creation by taking on flesh, to offer Himself as the sinless blood sacrifice to appease the wrath of God for the sins of mankind. He came almost unnoticed, in obscurity, but will return in glory, and every eye shall see Him when He returns a second time to gather His people to Himself. “And just as each person is destined to die once and after that comes judgment, so also Christ was offered once for all time as a sacrifice to take away the sins of many people. He will come again, not to deal with our sins, but to bring salvation to all who are eagerly waiting for him.” Hebrews 9:27-28 |
